Ellen M. Crowell, E.A.
Founder & CEO
Since becoming an E.A. her career has focused on Public Accounting for a myriad of clientele in a wide variety of industries. In 2009, Ellen had the opportunity to open her own practice in Kennett Square, so she could work closer to home and serve her community, while she and her husband raised their three daughters. Premier Tax continues to flourish to this day, where they support the businesses and residents of Kennett Square, by relieving them of their tax stress.
Maria D. Torres Aguilera
Accountant
Maria earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Delaware County Community College in 2022. She continued to further her education at West Chester University, graduating in May 2024 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She is currently pursuing her CPA certification and is committed to providing professional and personalized support to every client.
In February of 2026, she helped Premier Tax open a second location in downtown Kennett Square. Maria is passionate about helping individuals and small businesses achieve their financial goals through reliable tax, accounting, and bookkeeping services. She wants to actively serve the community she has been apart of for the last 22 years, utilizing not only her 5+ years of experience and education, but also her bilingual abilities.
Carolyn Ward
Bookkeeper
Carolyn graduated in 2006 with her Bachelor’s degree in education from Kutztown University. In 2011, she began working part-time for her aunt at Premier Tax as an office assistant. She made the switch to being a full-time employee in 2015 when she left her job working with children on the Autism spectrum as a classroom aide.
Since making that switch, she has interned under Ellen learning the skills necessary to support their clients’ needs. Carolyn’s daily job duties focus on Quickbooks data entry for their clients, both businesses and individuals. She is proficient in Quickbooks desktop and Quickbooks Online versions, using each on a daily basis to provide the financial information needed by their clients. While it is not her main responsibility, Carolyn is in charge of the payroll services that Premier Tax offers to their small and medium sized business clients. She is an integral part of the tax preparation process every spring, and is able to assist Ellen so that returns can be completed and filed in a timely manner.
